stormdoctor  > Weather > Cloudscapes and Sunsets
Stunning clouds shapes and colors are captured in this gallery. I have tweaked the contrast where necessary, but the colors are exactly as I saw them on the days they were taken.

***NOTE***

All photos purchased will be the highest resolution and highest quality (by necessity the previews you are viewing are only medium quality in order to decrease bandwidth). Your satisfaction with the final print is guaranteed. If you in anyway dissatisfied, simply email me at Jason@Stormdoctor.Com and I will purchase back the print from you (less developing and shipping costs). :) All purchased photos may be used for personal display but may by no means used commercially by any entity without explicit approval by me. Thank you for helping me fund the trips that allow me to bring these photos back to you!

stormdoctor > Wicked winds whipped out of the north (moving from right to left in this shot) as this outflow-dominant storm moved gradually east near Altus, OK, on May 27, 2008. We stopped under the gust front and were treated to high winds kicking up red dust under blue clouds. I liked the colors even if the photo itself is not stupendous.
stormdoctor > In many ways, we were all alone on this cell near Tucamcari, NM, on May 28, 2008. I was able to meander to the center median and take uninterrupted photos for a while only forced to move when the storm approached. The sense of being alone with this storm was what drove me to frame this photo.
stormdoctor > Near Tucamcari, NM, on May 28, 2008. A multicellular cluster with frequent rotation prompted multiple tornado warnings on this cell. Occasionally up to 3 separate TVS's were noted on radar. But as this photo shows, the behavior of the storm was more consistent with mesocyclones forming on outflow from the HP cells. New Mexico has amazing landscapes, but few roads. It was a beautiful sight to see this wall cloud and scenery.
stormdoctor > The RFD on this cell over I-70 near Hoxie, KS, on May 29, 2008, created a very potent gust front and boiling sky. I think this image captures the size of the storm as the cars in the image appear faint and small. I love when I can capture scale to this degree.
stormdoctor > This shot is pretty cool to me: I was able to shoot up an embankment just south of I-70 near Hoxie, KS, on May 29, 2008, and capture a fellow chaser silhouetted against the boiling sky of the RFD gust front. It captures the smallness of man, the largeness of the sky, and the spirit of chasing.
stormdoctor > Crepuscular rays light up fields near Colby, KS, on May 29, 2008.
stormdoctor > I've not seen too many photogenic crepuscular rays that pointed in directions at 90 degrees from each other. I was treated to this sight near Colby, KS, on May 29, 2008.
stormdoctor > As I ended my chase vacation this year, I was given a beautiful send-off by mother nature. As the dryline pushed into central KS, the merged anvils of a line of tornadic storms captured the sunset perfectly over this landscape near Burlington, CO, on May 29, 2008. The photo leaves me longing to be back on the Plains again, which I'll be...next year.
stormdoctor > For whatever reason, the colors in this photo feel like the sun setting on the Wild West near Burlington, CO, on May 29, 2008.
